Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Pastry Crawl at Disneyland Paris

I recently spent the day at Disneyland® Paris to help celebrate the park’s 30th birthday! What better way to celebrate a birthday than with an epic pastry crawl through the happiest place on earth? The park has created some limited-edition pastries for its 30th anniversary and with the help of Orange Holiday I was able to navigate my way through all the fantastical lands of the park to find these special sweets.

C’est l’heure du goûter the Disney way….Let’s have a sweet adventure and along the way I’ll also tell you how you can win tickets to spend your own magical day at Disneyland Paris!

I started in Tomorrowland at the Hyperion café where we found the special edition Mickey Mouse cake or as I called it the Mickey “Mousse” cake as this genoise cake is filled with decadent layers of chocolate mousse! After a thrilling ride on hyperspace mountain we decided to head directly back to Main Street in search of our next sweet…

The giant 30th anniversary St.Michel galette can be found at the Market House Deli off Main Street. This buttery biscuit is enormous and can easily be shared with friends. The Breton company, “St.Michel” has been producing its buttery biscuits since 1905 and has partnered with the park to create this oversized version with either a Mickey or Minnie stamp on top. This cookie travels well too so we nibbled some and stowed the rest in my backpack for later.

While you are on a real-life pastry hunt in the park you can simultaneously engage in the digital treasure hunt using the Celebration Quest App created by Orange! It allows you to discover even more magical secrets about the park.

After watching the Disney Stars on Parade dance its way down Main Street we were ready to try the gourmet platter of 30th anniversary pastries at Victoria’s Home-Style Restaurant. This collection of mini pastries includes a marshmallow tart with white chocolate dome & blackcurrant caramel, a mickey millefeuille with blackberry & raspberry ganache, puff pastry filled with blueberry pastry cream, a chocolate Breton shortbread with meringue piping and finally the anniversary dome filled with blackberry cream. We ordered the signature beetroot lemonade for a refreshing pairing with all the pastry.

Next, we made our way over to Sleeping Beauty’s castle to see the famous stained glass windows that tell the story of Aurora and Malificent and to walk through Fantasyland to find the entrance to Frontierland and sail briefly on a Pirates ship through the Caribbean. We decided we needed to work up an appetite for one last goûter before the end of the day….

As we made our way back towards the front entrance of the park, we decided we needed to try one last treat before the magic of our day at Disneyland Paris ended. We came upon Boardwalk Candy Palace near the start of Main Street and went exploring in this vast candy emporium. I found the perfect French confections to send us home with a smile…anniversary macarons in various flavors! The Mickey macaron was my favorite filled with praliné but we also took lemon, passion fruit, salted caramel and raspberry (Minnie Mouse).
